Polychrome Peacock Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

This may be the one project I’ve spent the most time on… ever. At one point, I thought I’d be making peacock themed motifs forever. I had been perusing some of my crochet books when a vintage, almost cameo-like motif, caught my eye. It was oval shaped with frilly edges and a rose in the middle. I was going to make a few, mostly for fun, when I realized the oval shape reminded me of a peacock feather. A whole lot, and I mean weeks of tweaking later.
